Saint Aymes, The Pretty Little Cafe

Is Saint Aymes the Prettiest Café in London?
Let’s just say, if London was about to go into lockdown again, this is where I’d want to be holed up.
When a certain virus... a name more synonymous with beer than bacteria was declared a pandemic, Londoners collectively self-isolate. Which worked out wonderfully for me when I arrived at Saint Aymes, the iconic pink café at 59 Connaught Street. At 2:30 in the afternoon, I had my pick of the choicest floral-adorned tables and no need to become a yoga master to snap the perfect selfie.
With black and white floor tiles, white floral walls and pink wisteria cascading from the ceiling, it’s the kind of space where even the air seems filtered in rose gold.

Not only was I seated for all those great shots but served immediately—a non-hectic atmosphere and really mellow music that I can actually enjoy.
What’s on the Menu?

Do I order the rose tea, scattered with 23-carat gold flakes and rose petals curling inside the rim like a crown? Or a classic cappuccino, served in gold-trimmed china, with a whisper of latte art?
This coffee lover chose the latter and no regrets.
Creamy, smooth and rich enough that I didn’t even reach for sugar.
Unheard of for me!
Paired with a white chocolate and raspberry cake that tasted like clouds layered over a crisp biscuit base.
The kind of dessert you consider ordering twice.

Of course, all of that complemented with this beautiful white chocolate and raspberry cake.
The biscuit base, beautiful and crisp.
The topping, a really light mousse and not overly sweet.

If London were to go into lockdown just this minute, this is the place I'd be happy to be held up in. Outdoor seating in front of its pink wisteria framed glass front. Inside, all the hydrangea and rose floral walls you will need in a weekend.

For the 'Gram (Without the Wait)
Saint Aymes is more than a café. It’s an Instagrammer’s dream. Outdoor seating framed by pink wisteria, velvet pink chairs, floral backdrops and a chaise longue that practically whispers 'take my photo.'
Even better? Friendly staff who know how to snap your best angles. Yes, they get it.
Where will your next cafe review take you?
How about Afternoon Tea at Kimpton Fitzroy, for when you want a classic British tea with a twist. Or Qishr Latte at Qima Café? Ever tried a coffee made from Yemeni spice and tradition? Or those days you want to swap latte foam for bubbles, Harrods Champagne Bar
